direct drive motors

Direct drive motors are ideal in motion control applications that can not use gearboxes due to their backlash and the additional form factor that they take up inside a machine. They are often used as rotary positioning tables since they have larger bearing systems that can handle a sizable load. The center through hole in the motor makes it easier to route cables and air lines. Direct drive motors are available in both stepper motor and brushless servo motor configurations ranging in size of 1.8 to 14 inches in diameter.
